Start your job searchThis European Venture Capital fund is looking for a newly qualified Management Accountant to join their finance team of 6. As they boast a track record of taking on newly qualified candidates and promoting them quickly, they know that they have the infrastructure to train and develop any candidate with the right attitude and aptitude. This is therefore an ideal opportunity for any ACA (from a smaller practice) or ACCA/CIMA from industry to make the move into a leading VC, in an environment that will encourage development.
The role itself will report into both the Financial Controller and CFO. The main responsibility is the maintenance and running of all corporate accounting however, there will also be exposure to fund accounting as well as ad hoc projects for the partners.
The culture within this firm is typical of any VC; more reflective of its investments as oppose to the FS industry. Situated in the heart of Central London, there are ping pong tables, free fresh fruit and in house catering. They are big on innovation and entrepreneurship and this culture runs through the veins of everyone associated to the firm - you will not find anyone signing off an email in a normal fashion! Work life balance is also excellent here.
Experience of preparing accounts is key - hence the allusion to a small practice if an ACA. If ACCA or CIMA, then good academics and an interest in the area will be important- this can be either in the underlying portfolio businesses or in Venture Capital/funds. The salary will be competitive and most likely around the £50,000 but there will be a discretionary bonus and profit share on top.
