Head of Tax PE-Backed Healthcare Business
- Permanent
Cambridgeshire
The details
Marks Sattin Executive Search is working with a PE-Backed international biotechnology business in the search for a Head of Tax to work closely with the CFO and senior leadership team. This is a high-impact role with responsibility for the Group's tax agenda, offering the opportunity to shape and develop the tax function as the business continues to grow and invest.
The Head of Tax will have responsibility for the Group's tax strategy, compliance and governance across its international operations, with oversight of corporate tax, indirect tax and transfer pricing. Working closely with the CFO and wider finance team, the successful candidate will ensure the Group has appropriate tax structures, controls and processes in place.
A key priority will be to take ownership of the Group's corporate tax position, identifying areas of risk and opportunity and strengthening the overall tax framework. The role will also involve managing external advisers and working across multiple jurisdictions, including the Group's offshore operations.
The role will have regular exposure to the CFO, senior leadership, Board, PE investors and external advisers. With the business entering an important period of investment and potential future transaction activity, the Head of Tax will play a key role in ensuring the Group is well positioned from a tax perspective.
The ideal candidate:
- A qualified tax professional and/or accountant (CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a senior tax role within an international business, ideally PE-Backed.
- Strong corporate tax experience, with a good understanding of indirect tax and transfer pricing.
- Experience taking ownership of a Group tax function and improving tax processes, controls and governance.
- International tax experience across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to work with senior management, Board members and PE investors.
- Commercially minded and hands-on, with the ability to operate strategically while remaining close to the detail.
- Experience of due diligence, refinancing or transaction activity would be advantageous.
Please understand that due to the expected high number of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted directly.
