We are working with an exciting bank who is looking to bring on board a market risk analyst to join the team in London.

The position itself will give the successful candidate the opportunity to rapidly progress in their career! (The CEO of the company started life as an analyst in the Finance team!)

Examples of responsibilities to expect:

  • Provide analysis on market risk measures e.g. P&L, MTM, Regulatory VaR, and Stressed VaR.
  • Develop models for Market Risk analysis and internal Stress Testing.
  • Interact regularly with the front office to ensure that the Market Risks arising from day-to-day investment/trading positions are fully understood and managed appropriately within the Risk Management Framework.
  • Liaise with back office to ensure that systems adequately represent the risk profile of the Trading/Banking books, and that risk numbers are reported in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders and data providers
  • Support COREP, ILAAP, ICAAP, RRP and Pillar 3 reporting.

Candidate Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will bring 1+ years of market risk and/or liquidity risk experience gained within financial services (preferably within a bank).
  • A bachelor's degree in a quantitative subject e.g. Finance/Mathematics/Physics/Economics is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of interest rate products, counterparty risks and/or market risks, trade characteristics and hedging strategies.
  • Able to demonstrate understanding of key risk factors for FX, Rates, IR products and how they are measured.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management metrics such as VaR, PVBP, RWA and Stress Testing;
  • Strong VBA skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence management and to lead and work collaboratively across teams
