Network and Information Systems Engineer - Midlands - £50k

A pan-UK consumer services company is currently looking to hire a Network and Information Systems Engineer to be based remotely in the short-term and then out of its UK head office located in the Midlands.

The main remit of the role is to support the company's network and information systems, and ensure faults and problems are rapidly diagnosed and appropriate corrective actions completed to and maintain optimum performance.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to technology infrastructure support requests in a timely and efficient manner within agreed SLAs
  • Comply with appropriate processes and practices to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of the organisation's technology infrastructure.
  • Comply with change control procedures and ensure changes are properly communicated and fully considered prior to implementation to minimise business disruption.
  • Apply updates and security patches as part of the patch management process.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, including ISO27001 and PCI.
  • Ensure compliance with software licensing laws.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent related experience
  • Proven track record in a similar role
  • Data Centre management for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
  • Microsoft Server technologies - NTFS, AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO.
  • Hyper-V and Failover Clustering.
  • Internal LAN including switches - TCP/IP.
  • Storage, including SANs and backup devices.
