Start your job searchMarks Sattin are recruiting a key role for a Worksop based Finance team on a 12 Month contract. The position of Operational Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate production of company financial reports and lead the year end audit and preparation of the group statutory accounts. Duties include:
- Ensure compliance with accepted accounting practice, maintaining a thorough understanding of any changes in Financial Reporting Standards and the implications of these for the business, providing recommendations.
- Produce management information within the required timescales, including Management Accounts, Balance Sheet reconciliations, Business Review and Board packs, KPIs, dashboards, trackers and forecasts.
- Perform regular risk and opportunity reviews through the financial statements
- Provide robust and timely financial reporting.
- Review trends and challenge current performance, identifying risks and opportunities within the finance department and the wider business
- Provide a support service to other Finance areas and with the wider business through the appraisal and analysis of financial performance and the implementation of best practice.
- Ensure delivery of key financial measures including the year end audit, statutory accounts and changes in accounting standards.
- Responsible for the Group accounts.
- Responsible for the development of junior Finance team members.
- Develop a strong relationship with external auditors to provide assurance over approach and methodology with regard to year end processes.
- Liaise with external advisers to make recommendations of best practice and ensure adoption into daily processes
- Support the Commercial Accountant.
