Portfolio Manager - Applications

A global Professional Services firm is currently recruiting for a Portfolio Manager to join on a permanent basis located at their London-based office. The Portfolio Manager will manage the overall portfolio of IT Application related projects. Some projects will have project managers assigned, there may be some that are assigned to the Portfolio Manager to deliver. This will span across a variety of in-house, 3rd party and off the shelf applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively manages a range of projects ranging in sizes with significant strategic and/or commercial impact
  • Works with stakeholders to ensure requirements, design, build, testing and acceptance phases are managed and delivered successfully
  • Developing, implementing and updating resources allocations plans needed for projects
  • Demonstrates strong skills to communicate, influence, negotiate and deal effectively with all levels of IT, the Business organisation and Suppliers
  • Responsible for performance management, development and objective setting for your direct reports

Key Skills & Experience

  • Significant portfolio management experience ideally within an IT environment with experience delivering in house built or 3rd party application projects
  • Experience of running a diverse portfolio of projects including application development, software configuration and implementation
  • Qualified in an industry recognised programme management accreditation e.g. MSP or similar or can demonstrate experience in delivering programmes/projects using a structured approach
  • Experience in assisting in tender processes and resultant supplier management
  • Industry knowledge - understanding of a Professional Services Industry - desirable
