One of the most prestigious private equity houses in the U.K. is looking to hire a group finance manager to sit in their London office.

The business in question is a market leader; focusing on a mid-market investments across a variety of asset classes - they have an enviable track record and a strong reputation for working environment in finance.

The group finance manager position is a broad and challenging role with a technical focus on IFRS for a sizeable group. You will lead the evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards as and when applicable. Specifically your duties will include:

  • Liaising with the various stakeholders across the business including financial reporting teams, international finance centres to ensure that the consolidated and statutory accounting platform is up-to-date, accurate and fully reconciled to core systems
  • To ensure that accurate and timely financial information can be produced to meet regulatory and statutory requirements to the highest standards. Managing the month end processes to ensure the production of reliable and timely consolidated financial information within strict timescales.
  • Prepare the primary statements, including Income statement, Balance sheet and the Group cash flow each month.
  • Being fully conversant with the Group's consolidation methodologies and taking a leading role in the input to and reconciliation of the consolidation entities.
  • Ensure preparation of interim and year end statutory accounts for the Group subsidiaries in line with prevailing accounting policies and standards within an agreed timetable. Liaise closely with external auditors. Support in preparing materials for analyst and shareholder meetings and ensuring key messages are fair, balanced and understandable.
  • Overseeing the preparation of regular month end KPI reports to reflect the consolidated group portfolio return position as included in the monthly Board report. Overseeing the Group key controls process to ensure that they are properly maintained and accurately reflect and support the current Group structure.
  • Contributing to the design, development and enhancement of systems, processes and reports for both new and existing entities in order to achieve best practice whilst ensuring financial systems are upgraded and supported at all times
  • Help improve the Group's documentation of policies and procedures to enhance the quality of financial reporting

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with strong IFRS knowledge. A background in practice technical advisory or someone looking for a step up in investment management group finance would be ideal.
