A really exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Purchase Ledger/Assistant Accountant. An engineering, manufacturing business are in need of someone who can support within their finance team. Specifically looking for a Senior Accounts Payable specialist who has experience with more complex finance duties and able to be involved in petty cash, trial balance sheets etc.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Processing invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • End to end Payables process.
  • Processing invoices, identifying, and ensuring paid in line with policies
  • Answering and resolving AP queries
  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Updating and maintaining AP database
  • Bank reconciliation.
  • Allocating payments and processing Payment runs.
  • Monitoring and managing portfolio of clients.
  • Petty Cash
  • Trial Balance sheets
  • Cashflow and forecasting
  • Ad hoc duties to support Financial Controller

Essential experience

  • Over 3 years' experience working within Accounts Payable
  • Knowledge of the end-to-end P2P process
  • Advanced Excel experience
  • Experience working in manufacturing sector.
  • Experienced using Pegasus Opera or similar finance system.
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders internally and externally.

Desirable experience

  • Assistant Accountant Experience
  • Experience working in a senior Accounts level.
  • Experience working closely with a Financial Controller
  • Experience with process improvement and implementation.
