Marks Sattin are delighted to be partnering with a well‑established and fast‑growing accountancy practice based in Yeadon, Leeds. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to appoint a Semi Senior Accountant to join their friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual looking to build on their experience within a practice environment and take the next step in their career.
The Role
Working closely with senior accountants, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely and high‑quality accounting and tax support across a diverse client base. You will also play an important role in coaching and supporting junior members of the team.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders and limited companies
- Reconciling profit & loss accounts and balance sheets
- Completing corporation tax returns
- Preparing self-assessment tax returns
- Producing quarterly Making Tax Digital (MTD) income tax submissions
- Providing guidance and support to junior colleagues
- Using a range of accounting systems including Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and IRIS
About You
The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-focused, and confident working in a fast-paced practice environment.
You will have:
- 2-3 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice (required)
- AAT qualification
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong competency across multiple accounting software packages
- The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines effectively
