We are working with a market leading commodities firm who are looking to bring on board a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join their London Office.

Our client is a global commodities house with activities in exploration, production, transport, and marketing of oil and natural gas.

The position itself will give the successful candidate the opportunity to become a key member of the London Credit Risk team and help ensure, identify, manage and mitigate credit risks where possible. Aiding the structure of new business initiatives and provide financing solutions allowing you to contribute significantly to the business.

The successful candidate will bring industry experience and expertise, preferably with a strong knowledge of commodity trading activities (Oil, LNG, Gas, Power and Derivatives).

Examples of responsibilities to expect:

  • Identifying Credit Risk within a given transaction.
  • Provide quantitative and qualitative research and analysis,
  • Recommend and negotiate acceptable credit terms (e.g. payment) and credit support (e.g. guarantees) including analysing the impact on liquidity
  • Measure the resulting credit exposure - developing models if required

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have solid counterparty/credit risk knowledge acquired within a commodities firm and energy company that is active in physical commodity trading.

  • Educated to degree level (minimum 2.1 or higher).
  • Self-motivated with high energy levels and result-driven.
  • Sound analytical and lateral thinking ability. Must be detail-oriented.
  • Team player who can provide analyst cover within the credit team.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner is important to this position.
  • Proficiency in Excel and VBA (or alternative).
