SQL Database Administrator - London

A global professional services company is looking for a SQL DBA to work out of its prestigious central London offices.

The main remit of the role is to provide proactive management of the SQL Server platform across all applications and to support and maintain the PeopleSoft application architecture.

Responsibilities

  • To act as an 'expert' for consultation on issues relating to SQL Serve
  • To actively participate in project and architecture discussions concerning the SQL Server platform
  • To provide alternate views to enable greater scope of solution choices to consider
  • To identify, articulate and document, if necessary; amendments, refinements and alternative approaches to make improvements
  • To contribute towards the continuous improvement of the platform by challenging what can be improved upon and promoting efficiencies
  • Contribute, participate, document and continually evolve Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning
  • Support and manage production, development and UAT integrated environments.
  • Deployment of all changes to Production environment by adherence to Change Management procedures and policies
  • Familiar and responsible for the documentation of Disaster Recovery procedures and daily tasks

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with SQL Management Studio in SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2012, SQL Server 2014, SQL Server 201Extensive experience of Database Maintenance and Backups and Performance Tuning
  • Experience of Windows Server 2010 and 2012 R2 technologies
  • Experience in SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio
  • Experience with Upgrades and Installation of all the SQL Server Platforms
  • Experience with Migration of databases across different environments
  • Experience in SQL Server Reporting Services and been able to produce reports through
  • SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio
  • Experience in SQL Server High Availability technologies; clustering, database mirroring and log shipping AOG technologies
  • Server certification would be an advantage
  • Experience with VMWare
  • Understanding of SharePoint Technology
  • Experience in all levels of the PeopleSoft Application Architecture is desirable
  • Understanding and experience of Data warehouses
