Start your job searchA Midlands based Business Services company are currently recruiting for a SQL Developer. The SQL Developer will be responsible for the development and implementation of system applications that align to the strategic direction of the business. You will build scalable and efficient SQL to interact with the database servers, converting non-technical business requirements into technical requirements and solutions which you will develop, test and deploy.
The role will be responsible for producing a quality end-product that is fit for purpose, and work closely with the team, resolving escalations and diagnosing issues or bugs.
Key Skills & Responsibilities
- Developing core systems in SQL Server Management Studio 17
- Developing SQL back end with minimal changes in MS Access 2010, 2016, Front End Systems; write and optimise in-application SQL statements
- Provide realistic estimate timescales of delivery against business requirements
- Develop and maintain specifications, user manuals, testing schedules, source code, application objects and data flows related to assigned projects
- Assist in creating test plans
- Provide development support
- Manage work items from allocation to completion within our application lifecycle tool (Azure DevOps)
The SQL Developer will take the lead on financial software development related activity from the outset so will need to have the ability to work independently. However, they will very much be part of the team and have other developers to co-develop with and offer support.
