One of the UK's most well regarded insurers is looking to hire a syndicate accountant to sit in their London office.

The business in question has an excellent reputation and track record; they've bucked the trend in the market and grown substantially over the last few years.

Your role, as syndicate accountant, will cover responsibility for aspects of accounting, internal controls, reporting and budgeting for their Lloyds business unit. Specifically you will:

  • Technical Accounting
    • Prepare timely and accurate financial reporting, both for management information and statutory purposes in accordance with required GAAP/standards
    • Complete aspects of the monthly close, including reporting to Bermuda Parent in compliance with US GAAP
    • Perform allocated SOX controls and quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information
    • Accounting Platform (SICS) ensuring that all Finance needs are met.
  • Financial Performance and Analysis
    • Prepare financial analysis and performance reports wherever required
    • Prepare budgets and other financial plans for management information, corporate entities and third parties
    • Engage with miscellaneous project work and provide general assistance to the Finance Department and other functional areas as necessary

The ideal candidate will be a recently qualified ACA who has had experience auditing clients in the Lloyds market.

This is an excellent first step into industry for someone looking to take on a broad role with a mix of technical and commercial responsibilities.

Remuneration will be in the region of £50,000 - £55,000 with discretionary bonus and other benefits.
