ACA Commercial Accountant - Investment Management job in City of London, London

The company is a highly entrepreneurial venture capital firm that invests the capital of one of Britain's leading tycoons across various industries, from real estate and fund management to media, advertising, sports and entertainment. At the core, they remain a close-knit team in glamorous offices in the heart of London's West End. They are seeking a recently qualified accountant for a highly commercial and unique role.

The calibre of the people in the company is outstanding, with substantial financial rewards in a genuinely entrepreneurial and empowering business that maintains a real sense of collective fun. This role will involve managing all the financial affairs of a basket of high-growth portfolio companies. For the companies you are allocated, you will advise their business leaders on their financial situation, how to achieve profitability, KPIs, and manage their financial reporting. Still, almost 50% of the time will be ad hoc issue resolution, from paying the bills to restructuring, refinancing or working with investment bankers on the due diligence for a floatation. But, of course, no one day will ever be the same. This role WILL set your career up for the future and ultimately catapult you into an FC or FD role within five years.

We are looking for candidates with exceptional academic backgrounds to match the heady calibre of the existing team. Ideally, you will be recently qualified (or equivalent) with an experience in a broad accounting role in a financial services or commercial environment. Personality will be crucial, and we're after someone with a real entrepreneurial business head, an outgoing and problem-solving nature, the ability to work with initiative and, importantly, someone who can contribute to the sense of fun.
