Purpose

  • To manage accounting and reporting for two legal entities in EMEA supporting the wider EMEA accounting operations team.
  • Working independently, with other functions and outside service providers to deliver local country compliance, including direct and indirect taxes.
  • First point of contact for any matters/ issues within their entity.

Key responsibilities and deliverables

  • Booking month end journal entries - accruals, prepayment, intercompany, tax adjustments, payroll etc.
  • Monitoring other general ledger activities for their entities, such as AP and cash management.
  • Preparing Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparing local compliance filings for indirect and direct tax working with the tax team and their group lead (and outside providers where applicable).
  • Preparing other local compliance filings such as statistical returns working with their group lead (and outside providers where applicable).
  • Preparing local GAAP financial statements working with their group lead (and outside providers where applicable).
  • Working together with the wider EMEA finance team to deliver improvements and consistency across processes.
  • Other ad hoc tasks.

Specific skills and experience

  • Part-qualified or QBE accountant with experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Ability to apply accounting concepts to day to day tasks.
  • Good excel skills.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • A self-starter who is comfortable operating both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with staff at all levels.
