Accounts Assistant - London

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Central London on a 10-month fixed-term contract to cover a maternity leave.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including purchase invoice processing, cash allocation, supplier payments, and cash flow monitoring.
  • Process and manage month-end payment runs.
  • Post cash and credit card expenses and perform statement reconciliations.
  • Create purchase orders and set up new supplier accounts as required.
  • Review and process employee mileage claims.
  • Monitor the shared accounts inbox and direct queries to the appropriate team members.
  • Review and update customer account information.
  • Issue customer statements and assist with credit control activities where required.
  • Support stock count updates and cost analysis.
  • Assist with the preparation of weekly management reports and dashboards.
  • Provide ad hoc finance support, reporting, and administrative assistance as required.

Requirements:

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas.
  • Experience using ERP systems; knowledge of Lakeview ERP would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and analytical abilities.
  • Solid bookkeeping and accounts administration experience.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
