Bookkeeper | Stockport | Up to 40,000 | Temp to perm

A well-established growing company in the energy sector is looking for a reliable and detail focused Bookkeeper to join its finance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and is confident managing day-to-day finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the finance email inbox, ensuring timely responses and actions.
• Process purchase invoices and regularly check supplier statements, chasing missing documents when required.
• Handle sales invoice queries and send monthly customer statements (with potential for automation).
• Prepare month-end files and reconciliations.
• Complete CIS verification and produce CIS statements.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns.

About You

• Experience in a finance or bookkeeping role.
• Confident using Xero (or similar accounting software).
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Comfortable communicating with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
• Able to work independently and manage competing priorities.
