Commercial Project Finance Manager

Sheffield

£300 - £400 per day

This is a fantastic opportunity to join this commercially focused business in their projects team, where you can bring your finance expertise to the table, including you strong financial modelling skills.

The role sits with the Commercial Project Finance team who sits within the Commercial Business Development arm of Finance and Commercial services. The team provides commercial and financial advice and support to Major Projects and Major Contracts across the business.

The individual right for this role must be confident, highly motivated, driven and proactive with the ability to adapt quickly to a number of complex high value projects/contracts. The candidate will be an integral part of a number of different project teams across the business.

For the role your duties will include (but are not exclusive to):

  • Lead project financial management of major projects while ensuring projects are financially viable through continuous financial/risk analysis
  • Preparing business cases, statements of financial implications and cabinet reports
  • Play a key role in the financial support of all major contracts as part of the contract management team
  • Ensuring financial obligations of contracting partners are delivered including profit sharing, bench marking and market testing
  • Advise Business Partners and clients on unitary charges and similar issues
  • Proactively identify funding needs, sources and develop funding assumptions/scenarios/effects
  • Lead in the provision of financial advice on PFI/PPP projects
  • Perform value for money testing/affordability assessments
  • Provide support and finance to key Joint Venture arrangements

The candidate should possess the following skills and experience:

  • ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA qualified
  • Previous experience in working within a senior corporate finance role within public or private sectors
  • Ability to interpret and build advanced finance models
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Strong Planning and budgeting experience
  • Proven ability of influencing at senior stakeholder level
  • Strong Planning and budgeting experience
  • Previous experience in working for a large complex organisation
  • Advanced IT skills including Excel
