Start your job searchMarks Sattin is delighted to be partnering with a thriving, Leeds-based business to recruit an experienced Credit Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team where you will manage your own portfolio of high-value customers, ensuring timely debt collection and making a tangible impact on the bottom line.
You will be a proactive problem-solver, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to resolve queries, reduce aged debt, and foster long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Management: Take full ownership of a customer portfolio, leveraging strong relationships to maximize cash collection.
- Debt Resolution: Liaise with Sales and Order Processing teams to resolve invoice disputes and negotiate payment terms.
- Financial Reporting: Reconcile accounts monthly and assist management with forecasting and month-end closing activities.
- Process Improvement: Identify challenging accounts and propose strategic solutions, including recommendations for unrecoverable debts.
- Ledger Accuracy: Accurately post transactions and maintain the customer master database using systems such as Sage.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have a proven background in finance and a methodical approach to credit management.
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years in a dedicated Credit Control or Accounts Receivable role.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables/VLOOKUPs) and experience with Sage or similar financial software.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Reliability: A well-organized individual with a "smart appearance" and a reputation for excellent attendance.
