Our client is a leading Global Investment Manager with a strong Global footprint and a newly establish Asset Management function in Dublin.

Given their development of the business here in Dublin they are keen to secure the services of an experienced Risk Professional to act as Director and Head of Risk.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead risk activities in support of the Central Bank of Ireland UCITS and AIFMD regulatory requirements for operational risk and investment risk
  • Lead activities to facilitate the effective implementation of an operational risk framework across the European businesses.
  • Raise awareness and increase understanding of the investment risk profile (market, liquidity and counterparty risks) across European portfolios, and convert output from risk analytics solutions into meaningful insight/analysis, to enable an independent review and effective challenge of risks taken across the suite of investment products
  • Communicate the value proposition for a disciplined approach to Risk management across the European businesses
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to update the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP);
  • Provide expertise in liquidity risk management good practice in the context of UCITS and other European regulations
  • Stay abreast of upcoming regulations in Europe relevant to investment risk (e.g. ESMA Guidelines on liquidity stress testing in UCITS and AIFs), and drive risk management activities to satisfy required investment risk requirements ahead of deadlines.
  • Lead risk governance activities in support of relevant risk committees
  • Roll out key control initiatives to enhance the control environment
  • Evaluate new products, business initiatives and strategies for their impact on the business risk profile

The successful candidate will have gained at least 10 years' experience as a PCF approved Risk Professional and will demonstrate a strong Financial Services background coming from either an Investment/Asset Management and or Man Co background.

This is a significant opportunity for an experienced Risk professional to lead out the Risk function here in Ireland for a Global player in the Investment/Asset management market.
