Enterprise Architect - Birmingham

Pan-UK organisation centred on a major logistics initiative is currently looking for an Enterprise Architect for an initial 6 month contract to be based out of its Birmingham headquarters. Due to the nature of the client, this role is likely to fall within IR35.

The main remit of the role is to translate business vision and strategy into effective enterprise change by creating, communicating, and refining requirements, principles and models.

The ultimate goal of the Enterprise Architect is to improve organisational efficiency, effectiveness, and agility by delivering business-aligned future states and roadmaps to help achieve the business vision.

Due to the nature of the client, this role is likely to fall within IR35.

Responsibilities

  • Refine EA strategies, polices and design principles according to business vision and goals to ensure applications and infrastructure are fit for purpose, interoperable, and secure
  • Provide architectural insight for enterprise and IT-level strategy information
  • Assist in creating, building and maintaining the EA competency and capability
  • Participates in the development of architecture blueprints and influences IT and business stakeholders towards alignment and adoption of the front to back architecture
  • Participates in and manages Architecture working groups for the development and maintenance of EA
  • Identifies implementation risks and analyses potential impact on the enterprise
  • Recommends and participates in the design and implementation of standards, tools, and methodologies
  • Work with senior management to explain and make strategic architecture and application technology decisions
  • Guiding and influencing the business on the impact of change and new systems on their operating models
  • Facilitate in the creation, maintenance of and adherence to EA principles
  • Work collaboratively with other IT and EA team members working on projects and programmes to deliver the architecture artefacts

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience of initiating and delivering EA transformation as an Enterprise Architect
  • Experience in Agile delivery methods
  • Knowledge of relevant architectural frameworks, such as TOGAF, with an understanding of architectural disciplines, processes, concepts and best practices
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of cloud technologies, cloud strategies and in architecting solutions for the cloud
