Start your job searchA well-respected, PE-backed, multi-site Manufacturing & Service Group is seeking a Finance Director to lead their team in recognising profit growth opportunities, driving financial performance and achieving a swift, profitable exit.
The FD will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with private equity investors and management as part of the board, overseeing the business through its exit. Your commercial instincts and excellent communication skills will allow you to manage and develop strategic banking relationships, cash and covenants, while working alongside private equity backers to create significant value within the business.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Monthly reporting of financial results for entities and group consolidation to board and Senior management team
- Lead and develop a capable Finance team ensuring effective cover and development opportunities.
- Cash management including weekly forecasting and board reporting.
- Ensure contract accounting is correctly recognising profit on large contracts.
- Identify opportunities to improve business performance - growth, costs savings and business process improvements (including Sage 200 and other systems)
- Business partner to MD, highlighting risks and opportunities, helping develop strategy and financial plans.
- Communication of financial results and targets to staff.
- Annual budget and forecasts as required, working with SMT to build bottom-up forecasts which are owned and understood.
- Manage relationship with Banks and with auditors ensuring audits completed effectively and accounts filed on time. Ensure group companies are following appropriate accounting policies
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACMA, ACCA). You will have experience working in an SME environment and have experience of present results to board or other stakeholders. Private Equity experience beneficial, not essential
