Finance Systems Analyst - 6 Month FTC with possible extension

Salary: £45,000-50,000 per annum (pro rata)

Location: London (3 days onsite)
Start: ASAP
Contract: 6 Month Fixed Term

About the Role
We are a leading financial services organisation seeking a Finance Systems Analyst to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to work in a dynamic environment where technology and finance intersect. You will play a key role in supporting our finance systems and data processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the business.

The Opportunity
As a Finance Systems Analyst, you will help maintain and improve the systems that underpin our finance operations. You will work closely with finance colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation to ensure data integrity, troubleshoot issues, and support system enhancements. This role offers exposure to exciting projects and the chance to contribute to our digital transformation strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain finance systems and ensure accurate data for reporting and compliance.
  • Manage system reconciliations and track daily issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Support testing activities for new systems, processes, and updates, including user acceptance testing.
  • Respond to system queries, escalate complex issues, and perform data quality checks.
  • Maintain system documentation and records to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Contribute to risk management by maintaining the finance risk register and supporting reviews.
  • Participate in small change initiatives, impact analysis, and testing across the organisation.
  • Assist with quarterly system updates, testing, and communication to stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

  • Basic understanding of systems and data, with a strong willingness to learn.
  • Experience in finance, accounting, or data-related roles is desirable.
  • Familiarity with tools such as SQL and MS Excel; Power BI experience is an advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data integrity.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a can-do attitude.

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to finance reporting systems or data analysis tools.
  • Some programming experience and ability to extract, manipulate, and visualise data.
  • Previous involvement in system testing or change management projects.
