The Opportunity
A leading international organisation is seeking a qualified Finance Manager to join its Financial Accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to take ownership of complex accounting activities, external reporting requirements and balance sheet governance within a large and evolving business environment.
Working as part of a high-performing finance function, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of financial reporting while supporting process improvement and automation initiatives across the organisation.
This role offers exposure to complex technical accounting matters, senior stakeholder engagement and the opportunity to contribute to strategic finance projects within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
The Role
As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial accounting, reporting and control activities across a diverse portfolio of entities and transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Deliver accurate monthly and quarterly financial results in line with reporting deadlines and accounting policies.
- Support the preparation of financial information for external reporting requirements.
- Produce detailed balance sheet analysis, reporting and commentary.
- Ensure robust balance sheet governance, integrity and reconciliation processes.
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Assist with group reporting activities and wider financial reporting processes.
Technical Accounting
- Manage and support accounting activities relating to complex balance sheet areas, including financing arrangements, fixed assets, leases and other technical accounting matters.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies.
- Support the interpretation and implementation of new accounting requirements where applicable.
- Provide accounting guidance and technical support to stakeholders across the business.
Financial Control & Compliance
- Maintain a strong internal control environment, ensuring compliance with governance and SOX requirements.
- Identify, assess and mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Support internal and external audit activities and respond to audit requests.
- Drive improvements in financial control processes and reporting quality.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and consistency across financial accounting processes.
- Champion automation, digitisation and the use of technology to streamline activities.
- Collaborate with finance and operational teams to simplify and enhance reporting processes.
- Contribute to wider finance transformation initiatives.
Stakeholder Management
- Build effective relationships with finance, operational and business stakeholders.
- Present financial information clearly and confidently to senior audiences.
- Provide insight and support to help inform business decisions.
- Act as a trusted finance partner across multiple functions.
About You
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong financial accounting background gained within a complex organisation.
- Experience working with balance sheet reconciliations, financial controls and reporting processes.
- Good understanding of IFRS and/or US GAAP.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience operating within a fast-paced environment with multiple reporting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to large corporate or multinational environments.
- Experience with financial systems such as Oracle, SAP, Hyperion/HFM or similar.
- Experience supporting statutory reporting, audits and external reporting requirements.
- Exposure to technical accounting areas such as leases, fixed assets, financing arrangements or group reporting.
