Interim Financial Accountant

This is a key role in the Finance team working closely with the Corporate Finance team and the wider business. The role's primary responsibilities are to run the month end and year end close, consolidation and reporting process including to the Executive and group parent company. Outside of the reporting cycle this role has a key focus on improving processes and financial controls.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of financial reporting for the Executive and Group, including consolidated P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash flow & variance analysis
  • Preparation of Statutory Accounts for all group companies (IFRS)
  • Support the Head of Finance with implementing and reviewing the Controls Self-Assessment & Criminal Finance Act exposure.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance to Finance Directors as required.
  • Drive forward improvements in processes and controls in line with best practice and accounting standards.
  • Review monthly results to ensure accuracy and provide insightful narrative
  • Provide guidance and support to more junior members of the team, particularly during month and year end.
  • Other Ad-hoc tasks and analysis as required

Skills and experience needed:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with industry experience
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS), financial compliance and corporation tax
  • Competent with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
  • Good interpersonal and influencing skills at all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to tailor financial communications to the appropriate audience
  • Comfortable managing a diverse workload and priorities.
  • A systematic approach and a good eye for detail
  • Team player with proactive positive attitude.
