About the Role:

Marks Sattin are partnering with a large organisation based in Hull that is looking to recruit an Interim Assistant Management Accountant to support their finance team on an initial 3-6 months period.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including posting journals, accruals, and payroll entries
• Analyse variances against forecast and provide insightful commentary
• Post foreign trial balances from overseas accounting firms and ensure alignment with the Group ERP system
• Conduct detailed cost analysis to support forecasting and decision-making
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Prepare and submit ONS returns
• Support the wider finance team with queries and ad-hoc tasks
• Assist with year-end processes and liaise with external auditors
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and strengthen internal controls
• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis to support ongoing projects

What We're Looking For:

• Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferred
• Proven experience in a similar role within a fast-paced finance environment
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships
