This is an excellent opportunity to join a large global financial institution based in Central London. The Business Relationship Management team should successfully act as a bridge between the IT service function and its customer base to ensure that IT services are understood and adopted.
The function will seek new opportunities and address challenges in order to build an IT programme of work that will be distributed across Mode 1 project delivery, Mode 2 digital and innovation developers & the new formed automation function.
This function should also look to help develop business streams use of technology and building a digital strategy by understanding the business problems and offering innovative IT solutions.
The purpose of this role will be to;
* Manage the relationship between IT & the internal functions i.e. HR, Legal, Marketing, Communications etc.; taking ownership and responsibility for the overall delivery of meeting the business needs while working with the IT solution designers & architects to ensure the development adheres to IT's agreed architectural design and strategic direction
* BRM team member will mentor individual to help them grow within the role and develop wider relationship management skill set
* Engage and communicate with the business across all business streams to the agreed level and develop an overall positive impression of the IT service
* Transfer knowledge across the IT department as required and create a strong team network with the other BRM's
* Act as a point of escalation for service delivery issues and act as an engagement function for proactive IT Support
* Have a high level of understanding of technology used across the business and existing applications available within IT that could be used to further develop business areas
This role reports to the BRM Team Manager.
Responsibilities
Manage relationships with IT & internal support functions. Maintaining open lines of communication with all parties from both a service delivery as well as proactive IT requests
* Consult with business streams and review IT usage, services, technology, and department specific projects in order to identify, forecast and develop IT needs. Utilise the adoption and business change function to insure the IT solution and service are embedded within the business unit
* Be the voice of the business on both project and service delivery
* Serve as liaison with the Information Technology (IT) department for the business unit help them navigate the IT function
* To continually understand the business needs and pressures and help to educate the rest of the IT function
Key Requirements
* Knowledge and experience:
* Demonstrate some experience/understanding of the IT industry; notable areas including Project management and business analysis (we will consider a graduate that has no experience but can demonstrate strong communication skills and is an analytic thinker)
* Experience of working in a project based environment with experience on an end to end delivery
* Demonstrate an understanding of current business problems and external pressures articulating how IT can help
* People/Team Management
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal including active listening
* Confidence in presenting to the business
* Demonstrates commitment to the firm's values
* Collaborate on joint ideas and encourages others to view change as a positive process
* Ability to influence and persuade others outside his/her direct control
* Ability to identify and analyse alternative approaches to dealing with issues and problems
* Ability to challenge existing processes and methods in order to help grow and improve the business
* Demonstrate confidence in dealing with all levels of the firm, including management levels
* Demonstrate ownership and responsibility for deliverables/services and is willing to make tough decisions
