Are you an Ambitious Accountant with Logistics experience?

If so, Marks Sattin are working with a business in Sheffield who are rapidly growing both organically and through acquisition. This is an all-encompassing and varied role which will play a crucial part in the finance function. Duties will include:

  • Driving consistent and clear reporting on a weekly and monthly basis to the business, showing true underlying performance vs plan and forecast
  • Ensuring the existence of consistent, meaningful and challenging targets for inventory levels, cost prices, waste and direct deliveries.
  • Business partnering the senior members of the business to support and challenge performance
  • Responsibility for the full end to end forecasting ensuring reliability and accuracy, working to strict deadlines.
  • Attend regular performance reviews with senior stakeholders across the business to review strategic initiative delivery and overall P&L performance
  • Responsible for managing the overhead spend across all Commercial Business Units, Technical and Supply Chain cost centres ensuring adherence to budgets. Forecasting future overhead costs, ensuring all spend is to the benefit of the business.
  • Ensuring the integrity of the Purchase Orders through the weekly management accounts process to ensure accurate profitability. Highlighting risks and opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Responsible for the overall production of monthly management accounts P&L and Balance Sheet ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Comparison to budget and previous years P&L
  • Project Management of internal projects to drive change and improvements
  • Develop a team identifying training and development needs and providing an environment for growth.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience within a Logistics Business
  • Qualified accountant
  • Strong analytical skills (MS Excel).
  • Strategic thinker
  • Ability to build and develop collaborative relationships and to influence stakeholders
  • Excellent Communicator
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Strong leadership qualities
