Master Data Business Process Manager

An excellent opportunity to join a large infrastructure company in their Central London UK head office as a Master Data Business Process Manager.

Main purpose of the role

Supporting the Global Process Owners in driving process standardisation, integration and efficiency within data management through:

  • Implementation, and development of the Business Processes in Master Data Management in Procurement and Engineering, driving process adoption and compliance
  • Provide detailed functional and technical expertise on Procurement Data and Procurement and Engineering Master Data and support the business with queries and issues related to Transactional and Master Data.
  • Supporting and delivering procurement data management and improvement initiatives and projects across Procurement and Engineering
  • Working closely with the key stakeholders across the company, in particular the Procurement Global Solution Owner to promote end-to-end business process management

Direct responsibilities

  • Support and monitors the implementation of the Procurement Policy and Processes at the business / country level
    • Oversee implementation of the local (business-level) action plans to improve structure and quality of master data
    • Support the businesses in the design of developments to their procurement systems and master data
    • Supports the Heads of Procurement and of Engineering Processes and Systems through consultation on the specific business process consequences of the change requests applicable to Business Processes under their responsibility.
  • Improve quality of data across procurement and engineering, in particular master data
    • Analyse data to provide insights into data
    • Design and implement data quality measures (KPIs) jointly with the Master Data GPO and develop master data related reporting
    • use the insights from the KPIs to structure and lead data harmonisation and cleansing projects
    • drive data management projects process changes to improve consistency, completeness and usefulness of data content and structure.
  • Support the SAP S4 HANA implementation as necessary
    • Support maintenance of the Business Process documentation for Procurement and Engineering Master Data
    • Contribute to the process and solution design decisions through technical expertise and detailed data analysis
    • Contribute to the development of the Operational Model and the systems solution for the Group Master Data Management centre
  • Collaborates with other Procurement, Engineering and Finance GPOs and the business to drive overall data and process quality improvements

Knowledge and experience

Essential

  • Functional and technical expertise in the relevant Procurement and Engineering Business Processes, ideally gained in a similar process management role
  • Practical expertise with Master Data gained whilst working with a major ERP (ideally SAP R3K or S4 HANA);
  • Good understanding of a typical Source to Pay process and role of Vendor, Contract, Material master data in its quality and performance
  • Data analysis and manipulation, including advanced Excel usage
  • Business Process Management experience evidenced through working with process owners of a data management function
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, in particular in the context of Project Management, Stakeholder engagement and Business Process Documentation. Concise, structured, thought through communication is a key success factor for this role

Advantage

  • Experience working in an international environment and in SSC context, ideally gained whilst working for one of the major Business Process Outsourcing providers
  • Project and Change Management experience
