Payroll Specialist (Contract) - FinTech

London (Hybrid Working)

£250-£350 per day (via umbrella)

We're hiring an Interim Payroll Specialist to join a rapidly expanding fintech organisation operating in the international payments and FX space. This is a contract opportunity offering strong daily rates and the chance to work in a high-growth, fast-moving environment.

Joining a small but experienced team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and compliant payroll services across multiple jurisdictions, while partnering closely with Finance, HR and external vendors.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing full-cycle payroll operations on both bi-monthly and monthly schedules
• Mapping and formalising payroll controls and country-specific procedures
• Acting as the key liaison between internal stakeholders and the outsourced payroll provider
• Maintaining compliance with local legislation and internal governance standards
• Completing payroll reconciliations, variance analysis and audit support activities
• Assisting with month-end reporting and finance-related deliverables
• Monitoring regulatory updates to ensure ongoing compliance
• Identifying and implementing improvements to payroll workflows
• Resolving complex or time-sensitive payroll queries
• Contributing to payroll-related projects as required

Requirements:

• 3 + years of payroll experience across multiple countries.
• Immediately Available to start or on a short notice period (max 2 weeks).
• Exposure to global payroll platforms (experience with CloudPay would be advantageous)
• A strong sense of accountability and the ability to manage processes end-to-end
• Advanced Excel capability (including pivot tables, lookup functions and formula-based analysis)
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
• A solutions-focused approach and positive, can-do mindset
