A leading London based private equity fund are looking to hire an experienced fund finance professional to sit as a Senior Fund Controller (Associate Director). The role is broad, complex and represents a strong learning curve; thus commercial aptitude and drive are key traits for the ideal candidate.

The role will cover internal and external reporting, new investment appraisal, acquisition due diligence and structuring, and developing and implementing asset optimisation strategies. Specifically your responsibilities will include;

  • Manage and mentor a team of financial controllers
  • Play an active role in developing strategies to optimise portfolio assets
  • Assistance with financial due diligence of new target investments
  • Financial appraisal of target investments
  • Facilitating the handover of assets/ portfolios from Commercial team to Finance & Asset Management
  • Managing the process of refinancing / introduction of Fund level debt
  • Tax and capital structuring of investments
  • Active asset management, holding SPV Company Board Directorships and attending the monthly Asset Management Committee
  • Business partnering to the wider business, including asset management, commercial, investor relations providing financial expertise, review and structuring advice to the deal teams, liaising with tax and accounting and financial advisers as necessary
  • Review of fund management information produced by the Financial Controllers including reporting on investment performance and monitoring the introduction of new investments to ensure that investment returns are as expected or optimised.
  • Review of annual statutory accounts and managing the audit process of the entities included in the fund.
  • Review of investor drawdowns, distributions, equalisations and general investor reporting (quarterly) including ad hoc information requests as necessary.
  • Review and Interrogation of fund financial models

The ideal candidate will be ACA qualified with at least 3 years post qualified experience within alternative fund finance - private equity, infrastructure, debt/credit or real estate. Inter-personal skills, work-ethic and an ability to think outside the box are key for them.

Remuneration will be in the region of £75000 to £85,000 with exceptional bonus potential and the opportunity to receive carry in the fund.
