The details

Delighted to have been instructed by a high growth VC backed Fintech as they look to continue to grow their established legal team, and bring in a Legal Counsel with a regulatory background. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a sensational business that's changing the game. As part of the role, you will be assisting the business in navigating different jurisdictional challenges whilst also having the opportunity to work on a real breadth of work (including commercial contracts matters).

Key responsibilities:

  • Working on a range of regulatory matters in relation to expansion into new jurisdictions and new product launches.
  • Negotiating and drafting commercial contracts and advising internal stakeholders on any legal issue in the contract.
  • Assisting other members of the legal team with matters as well as advising other teams on how to navigate day to day legal and regulatory challenges.
  • Engaging with the regulators on certain matters (which can include licensing).

Qualifications:

  • England and Wales Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 3 years PQE.
  • Has worked in a reputable law firm on regulatory matters for fintech's. Ideal if currently working in a fintech on regulatory product matters or have experience working on this within Private Practice.
  • A strong communicator with experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fintech or payments experience is ideal and regulator experience will be a plus.
