My client is looking to expand their Risk Advisory team with an experience Senior Manager with a special interest in sustainability. Experience with Sustainability practice and delivery is vital.
About the opportunity
A wide range of clients are supported on their most pressing sustainability challenges and opportunities through a spectrum of offerings ranging from defining sustainability priorities to independent assurance. You will have a key role supporting the team with growing opportunities and delivering high quality engagements. The ideal candidate should be able to develop strong client relationships and be an expert in sustainability. Staying up to date on key developments is key to the role.
Responsibilities:
- Leading client sustainability engagements across all industries, acting in the capacity of 'engagement manager', taking ownership for all aspects of engagement delivery from scoping, programme and team selection through to delivery, quality management and budgetary control
- Delivering an innovative approach to our sustainability service offering (ethical supply chain management, sustainable finance, climate risk and low carbon transition etc.)
- Drive client business development activities for sustainability, supporting our go to market activities, demonstrating ability to generate leads and expand our opportunities in this area
- Leveraging your in depth knowledge of the sustainability landscape to enable you to act in the capacity of 'trusted advisor' for senior client stakeholders.
- Developing thought leadership and market eminence related to sustainability
- Building technical knowledge across the wider internal team
- Developing strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the firm, working alongside others on all sustainability matters and industries as the team continues to grow
- Supporting the firm's 'talent agenda' via the mentoring and the development of junior staff
- Supporting and contributing to the development of the practice's future strategy
About you
- Desire to work as part of high performing team covering a range of strategic and reputational risk matters, in a dynamic, challenging environment
- Understanding of climate risk, human rights, responsible lending and investment, impact investing, ESG integration, sustainable and green finance, circular economy, sustainability strategy, implementation and reporting
- Outstanding academics and relevant qualifications (e.g. sustainable development, environmental sustainability etc.)
- Extensive experience in professional services / consultancy in an 'engagement manager' capacity
- Evidence of client networking success, proven track record in business development
- A high aptitude for identifying, establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
- Strong team player with the ability to manage a number of projects, meet deadlines and manage stakeholder expectations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report drafting and delivering presentations
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Analytically minded; confident in demonstrating the ROI of sustainability initiatives
- The ability to operate autonomously and to drive engagements as well as teams
- Excellent communication skills, with a high level of emotional intelligence to effectively present and influence all levels of the business
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft applications - PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access)
