Start your job searchMarks Sattin are working alongside a fast paced retail business who are currently recruiting for a Senior Commercial Accountant. This role is highly autonomous and varied, providing a qualified Accountant the opportunity to gain a wider skillset and continue their development.
Duties will include:
- Liaise with external auditors to provide assurance with regard to year end processes.
- Support the business teams in making commercial decisions to achieve business plan targets are achieved.
- Review trends and challenge current performance in a fast-moving retail industry, identifying risks and opportunities within the finance department and the wider business.
- Support the Commercial Managers with any commercial decisions, in order to ensure the achievement of business plan targets.
- Liaise with external advisers to make recommendations of best practice.
- Perform analytical modelling to evaluate ROI proposals making appropriate recommendations to the business.
- Challenge and understand submissions of reports for forecast and business plan, in line with business performance.
- Be actively involved in commercial negotiations as required.
- Provide financial support, insight and analysis on key strategic projects, acting as the finance lead where required.
- Produce management information within the required timescales, including Business Review and Board packs, KPIs, dashboards, trackers and forecasts.
- Provide robust and timely financial reporting and advice to aid strategic decision making and drive business performance.
- Provide support to other Finance areas and with the wider business through the appraisal and analysis of financial performance and the implementation of best practice.
- Continuously develop rigorous controls and processes and ensure these are in place to safeguard business assets and maintain the integrity of financial data and reporting.
