Software Architect - Amsterdam

A global technology consultancy is looking to hire a Software Architect on a permanent basis to be based in Amsterdam on its banking client's site.

The client may also consider a contractor in the interim.

The organisation requires a talented and experienced designer / developer with risk / banking experience who is technically passionate, solution-focused and able to design, develop, test and maintain high-quality software.

The main remit of the role will be to design, develop and execute software solutions to address business issues and work on the global international banking risk and pricing platform.

Fluent business English is essential for this role. The client will consider candidates from other European countries and will offer a relocation package where required.

Remote interviewing and on-boarding is confirmed for this hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide architectural blueprints and technical leadership to the IT team
  • Collaborate with peer organizations, quality assurance and end users to produce cutting-edge software solutions
  • Manage end to end product backlog and ensure timely delivery of the solution.
  • Work with Java 8 and all its features
  • Work with Spring Boot and other Spring modules ( web, data, security, batch) or any other dependency injection framework
  • Create project plans with relevant client team members.
  • Supervise team members and ensure that deadlines are followed.
  • Governance and tracking of project deliverables

Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in either Computer Science , Cybernetics, Software Engineering, Financial Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in JAVA and OOPS development with demonstrable evidence of leading projects
  • Experience of participating in end-to-end development lifecycle in a rigorous test driven software development environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Java 8 or higher would be ideal.
  • Familiarity with tools like Confluence, JIRA, Fortify, Git, Jenkins, Maven
  • Experience in SQL and relational modelling is essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good analytical skills and excellent problem solver
  • Ability to work with colleagues across global locations
