Start your job searchMy client, a large Brokerage based in Central London are looking for a contractor for an initial period of 3 months to assist with heavy work load during year end.
The Statutory Accountant is primarily responsible for assisting with the preparation and review of the quarterly and annual London statutory Group submissions and necessary ad hoc project work.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Prepare the quarterly and annual London statutory Group submissions.
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts, liaising with external auditors in addition to other London Finance teams.
- Ensure accurate financial statement presentation and appropriate disclosures on new accounting pronouncements.
- Preparation of the annual investment impairment reviews.
- Preparation of year-end balance sheet analysis for quarterly reporting.
- Testing of statutory reporting systems when updates, for example, are required.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual ONS returns.
- Prepare month end balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ad hoc project work.
- Fulfil any additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Experience of preparing financial statements
- Strong understanding of financial statement concepts and principles
- Excellent technical accounting skills and thorough understanding of IFRS / FRS 101 / UK GAAP
- Experience of Oracle Financials, Hyperion (HFM and Essbase) and IBM CDM
