About the client and role
A leading alternative investments firm seeking a Senior Project Manager for an initial 9 month contract to deliver a series of high-profile initiatives within their tax and finance functions. The role will play a pivotal role in shaping operational processes, embedding governance frameworks, and implementing new systems solutions to support global tax compliance. The role sits at the intersection of Finance, Operations, and Change, providing senior-level visibility and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the Group's operating model.

Day rate: £700 - £800p/d to umbrella company.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of strategic projects to enhance operational tax processes, governance, and reporting capabilities
• Oversee the design and implementation of a new platform to manage global compliance obligations, ensuring seamless integration with finance and operations systems
• Map existing processes, identify gaps, and build robust target operating models with clear ownership, controls, and escalation mechanisms
• Develop and embed frameworks for global tax governance, risk management, and monitoring
• Partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, Tax, Operations, and Technology, as well as external vendors, to align on requirements and deliverables
• Produce clear project documentation, reporting packs, and management information dashboards for senior leadership
• Drive delivery against agreed scope, budget, and timelines while ensuring compliance with internal governance standards

What we are looking for in the candidate

• 10+ years' experience in programme/project management within financial services or asset management
• Strong background in tax operations, regulatory reporting, or finance transformation projects
• Proven track record of delivering systems-enabled change, including vendor selection, system implementation, and integration with wider business processes
• Knowledge of international tax reporting and compliance obligations (e.g. AEOI/CRS, FATCA, WHT) highly desirable
• Experienced in managing cross-functional projects with senior stakeholder engagement across multiple jurisdictions
• Excellent governance, planning, and risk management skills with attention to detail and an execution-focused mindset

The role is offered on a hybrid basis of 3 days per week in the London office. This can be flexible for the right candidate.
