Marks Sattin are working with a Top 15 Accountancy Firm who are looking to recruit a VAT Assistant Manager based in London. The role will involve working directly with the partners, directors and senior managers, and work across a wide range of clients and individuals, companies, landed estates, charities and not for profit organisations, advising on many different aspects of VAT compliance, transaction and liability matters.

The VAT group organises itself into two teams, one dealing with predominately charity and not for profit clients and the other focusing on landed estates and private client matters. The role is for an individual to work across both groups advising on client matters in our difference practice groups.

The successful candidate would join a team of six members of staff; two partners, one director, one senior manager, one senior and a trainee.

The ideal candidate will be CTA qualified or be studying towards the final stages of the qualification as well as:

  • Have strong technical skills and up to date knowledge of VAT issues.
  • Particular experience of land and property transactions, partial exemption and business/ non- business appointments would be desirable.
  • Strong report writing skills and computer skills particularly with Excel.
  • Experience with business development would also be an advantage and a record of winning work.
