Accountant (Tax/ Treasury)

Our high growth client in the retail sector are looking for a new Accountant (Tax/Treasury) to join their growing team in Central London. Reporting into the Head of Reporting, this is a broad role ecompassing strong technical tax and treasury responsibilities, as well as general accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Tax

  • Ownership of the groups monthly and quarterly tax processes, ensuring computations, submissions and payments are made on time, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Liaise with external audit processes to calculate individual entity and group consolidated corporation tax submissions.
  • Monitor legislation changes and provide commentary and interpretation of potential impact to the group, recommending potential policy and process changes.
  • Oversee VAT compliance and filings across multiple jurisdictions, including the UK, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Sweden, and France.

Treasury

  • Support the month-end close process with journal entries and reconciliations
  • Oversee cash reporting for the business, including daily and weekly cash reporting and forecasts to the parent company
  • Establish an FX/hedging policy, maximising capital assets of the business
  • Maintain real-time oversight of global bank accounts

Transfer pricing

  • Develop group transfer pricing strategy, working with external providers to benchmark and devise transfer pricing policies
  • Ownership of intra-group company agreements, working with key internal stakeholders to ensure effective operation of group transfer pricing strategy

The ideal candidate will be newly qualified with a professional qualification, whether that be accountancy based (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or tax based (CTA). Strong understanding of corporate tax, VAT and tax regulations will be needed to ensure strong tax reporting and analysis. General accounting ability including month-end close, cash reporting and cash flow forecasting will also be needed. Systems experience including excel will be needed with Dynamics 365 exposure being desirable too.
