Marks Sattin are delighted to be partnering with a leading manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their team on a permanent contract.
As the Assistant Accountant you will support the company's accounting department with their day to day functions by carrying out entry-level accounting duties such as reconciling accounts, managing payroll and preparing financial reports.
Responsibilities:
- Updating and reconciling financial ledgers.
- Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets for the company.
- Preparing financial documents such as purchase orders and bank statements.
- Verifying company expenses, bank deposits and bank payments.
- Reporting discrepancies, mistakes or potential fraud to senior management.
- Complying with financial laws and regulations alongside in-house policies.
- Researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely fashion.
- Process payments accurately on the bank - working in various currencies.
- Assistant the Finance Manager with month end duties, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation.
- Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Credit Control.
- Managing Payroll.
Requirements:
- Have similar experience in a previous role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Mathematical skills and in-depth knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles.
- In-depth understanding of analytics.
- Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with accounting software, such as Xero or QuickBooks.
