Job title: Assistant Accountant

Salary: £32K - £38K

Location: Newark-on-Trent / Lincoln


My client is a family-owned company who began over 100 years ago, operating in the consumer food industry, and rated one of the top 10 companies to work for within their field.

Within this role you will closely with both the Operations and Supply chain teams to both improve the impact and understand of operation & agricultural reporting, and provide analysis and deliver insight than links financial reports to operational actions.

Key Duties:

  • Weekly & Monthly KPI reporting, including variance analysis and explanation
  • reporting analysis and insight
  • Management accounts and supporting schedules
  • Producing balance sheet reconciliations where appropriate and working to resolve any queries associated with them
  • Completion of statutory accounts and all associated reporting required by the Financial Accounting Manager

About You:

  • Working towards a recognised accounting qualification (e.g ACA/ACCA/CIMA) - AAT qualified candidates considered.
  • Operational / manufacturing and/or logistics experience (desireable)
  • Highly numerate and literate. High level of attention to detail. Good analytical skills. Excellent Excel and IT skills. Good business and commercial awareness. Effective stakeholder management skills.
  • Challenging, enquiring mind. "Can-Do" attitude. Highly organised and efficient
