Job Title: Bookkeeper

Salary: £35-40,000

Location: Outskirts of Leicester (South West)

About the Job:

Marks Sattin are working with an business based in Leicester who are looking for a bookkeeper to join their team on a permanent basis. If you're looking for a fast paced and varied role within a friendly, close knit environment then this may be the opportunity for you.

This position is crucial to the smooth operation of the office, requiring proficiency in both bookkeeping and general administrative tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with office management, and providing support to other team members.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Reconciling bank statements and credit card accounts.
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Processing payroll.
• Generating financial reports using Sage.
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures..
• Answering and directing phone calls.
• Managing correspondence (email, mail).
• Organising and maintaining office files and records.

What Are We Looking For?

• Proven experience in a bookkeeping and administrative role.
• Experience with Sage accounting software would be a bonus.
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
