Marks Sattin are proud to be working with a growing food manufacturer based near Goole. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a great business that is currently undergoing some exciting changes within the business!

You will report into the Commercial Finance Manager and deliver commercial analytical finance support to the local finance, sales, and marketing teams. Your principal objective will be to improve decision making and drive continuous improvement in commercial areas.

The role will require excellent data analysis and excel skills, with the ability to react quickly to the changing needs of the business.

Key Accountabilities:

• Inputting to the financial budgeting process and associated reporting through to standard margin (before overheads).
• Reporting on weekly and monthly sales and contribution reports throughout the business providing accurate and timely numbers along with explanations for any variances.
• Managing the volume forecasting process with the Sales team to support production planning and supply chain. Maintain and develop forecasting tools and feed this into financial forecasts.
• Key point of contact within the Finance team for Sales and Marketing, providing support to sales account management, and retrospective performance analysis.
• Analyse and report on sales promotional and marketing support activities.
• Evaluating potential new business to ensure appropriate levels of contribution achieved.
• Continual review of profitability and performance on existing products.
• Assist with controlling and amending price lists, including providing administrative support to the commercial team for price list updates.
• Supporting the business in continuing to improve business profitability.
• Contributing to the development of the systems used in the commercial finance area.
• Assisting the Group Financial Controller with statutory reporting, particularly year-end audit.
• Ensuring adequate cover is in place for any periods of absence and covering other accounting functions/roles when required.

Skills Required:

• Exceptional desktop skills and IT, particularly Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook.
• Commercial analyst background and experience within the manufacturing sector desirable.
• Must have good interpersonal skill and be able to effectively communicate with colleagues and external agencies.
• Experience of SAGE, TM1 Cognos would be advantageous but not essential.
• Strong analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a pressured environment and ability to adapt to changing workloads.
• Ability to prioritise workloads, tasks, and projects
• Part qualified (AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA) Preferably
