Job Title: Electronic Hardware Design Engineer
Location: Edinburgh
Industry: Aerospace & Defence
Pay Rates: £43.46 PAYE or £47.67 Umbrella (37 Hours Per Week)
IR35 Determination & Duration: Inside 12 Month Contract
Working Pattern: 90% Onsite

Are you passionate about designing cutting-edge electronics and solving real-world integration challenges? We're looking for an experienced Electronic Hardware Design Engineer to take on a pivotal role in developing robust and innovative solutions across the full product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design and development from requirements analysis to acceptance testing and final delivery.
  • Create high-quality, well-documented data packs while ensuring configuration management.
  • Work closely with software and firmware engineers to tackle system-level integration challenges.
  • Follow established processes and procedures to maintain engineering excellence.
  • Contribute to engineering process improvements for efficiency and innovation.
  • Apply TestStand expertise to enhance testing and verification capabilities.

Additional Responsibilities (Depending on Experience)

  • Provide technical direction and guidance to the wider Test Equipment team.
  • Oversee project deliverables, ensuring alignment with quality and technical requirements.
  • Mentor, coach, and support fellow engineers to enhance team expertise.
  • Assess engineering estimates, optimising cost, timescale, compliance, and technical risk.
  • Define and lead the technical direction for the engineering team to achieve successful work packages.
  • Act as a domain expert, engaging with customers and users to understand requirements and drive solutions.
