Financial Reporting Accountant | Leicestershire | Up to £60,000

Are you ready to take ownership of a high-impact finance role in a fast-paced, commercial environment? A respected UK-based organisation is seeking a Financial Reporting Accountant to lead lease accounting activities and support senior finance stakeholders across the business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant with a keen eye for detail, a commercial mindset, and hands-on experience with IFRS16.

🧾 Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage accounting for a large and varied property lease portfolio (1,000+ sites).
• Oversee IFRS16 lease reporting and compliance, including renewals, commitments, and provisions.
• Produce accurate monthly forecasts and reporting in partnership with property and estates teams.
• Maintain the lease accounting system, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and supplier oversight.
• Prepare Board-level reporting and respond to IFRS16-related queries from key stakeholders.
• Support wider Group Finance efforts with half-year and year-end close processes.
• Drive process optimisation across reporting and planning systems.
• Lead and develop one direct report, fostering growth and best practice.

🧠 Ideal Candidate Profile

• Qualifications: ACCA or ACA qualified (or equivalent).
• Expertise: Solid background in IFRS16 lease accounting and financial reporting.
• Skills: Advanced Excel and system confidence (e.g. accounting or reporting tools).
• Mindset: Analytical, highly organised, and solution-focused.
• Leadership: Experience mentoring or managing junior team members.
• Commercial Acumen: Able to work across business functions and deliver insight-driven recommendations.
