Financial Risk Management Framework Specialist - 6m contract - Fintech!

  • Pay Rate: £650 - £800 per day via umbrella
  • London, Hybrid Working

We are partnering with a high growth Fintech business, focussing on international payments to hire a Financial Risk Management Specialist to join on a day rate contract.

The role will be focus on leading the redevelopment of the firm's Financial Risk Management Framework (FRMF).

The successful candidate must have experience in risk management within the second line of defence. You must also have financial services experience preferably within banking, fintech or payments firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Redesigning and strengthening the firm's FRMF, embedding independent oversight of first line financial risk activities.
  • Enhancing policies and processes for liquidity, market, credit, and group risks.
  • Developing more robust stress testing methodologies and contingency funding plans.
  • Define and implement liquidity risk appetites, contingency funding plans, and escalation triggers.
  • Work with senior executives across Risk, Treasury, Finance, and Compliance to ensure risks are clearly identified, monitored, and reported.
  • Lead the drafting of regulator-ready reports outlining progress and remediation delivery.

Requirements

  • You must be immediately available or under a short notice period of 2 weeks or less.
  • 7+ years' senior 2nd Line experience in financial risk management in Financial Services sector., ideally in payments, Fintech or Banking
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance, or treasury risk.
  • Experience in second line oversight of complex products (including derivatives), liquidity management, and group risk.
  • Strong knowledge of UK regulatory expectations, including FCA principles on financial resources, payments/e-money supervision, and wind-down planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement stress testing, risk appetites, and funding contingency frameworks.
  • Track record of responding to regulatory reviews and leading remediation programmes.
