Head of Finance - Dorking, Surrey - £80,000 to £90,000

We are excited to be working with a Private educational establishment, it's main focus is School to educate children with special educational needs.

Due to continued growth and opening of a new site they are looking to find their Head of Finance - currently with 66 sites and plans to grow further, this role not only offers an opportunity to grow your own team, but also offers huge growth potential in the future as the company looks to build further sites as well as expanding this one.

You'll ultimately be reporting into the Head Teacher and will sit on the senior leadership team.

During term time you will be required to work on-site, however during school holidays you will be able to work from home, you will have one direct report within finance, plus be responsible for the operations team, as well as having regular interaction with HR.

You will also have oversight of the Financials for another School in Southampton, although you are welcome to spend a day on site there one a fortnight, this can also be done via Teams calls with the Headteacher.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for the two sites
  • Manage school budget
  • Monitor yearly revenue and advise of predicted achievement of targets and future forecasts
  • Forecast future budgets
  • Support strategic and long-term decisions
  • Annual monitoring of capex and financial projects
  • Prepare financial data for the board as required
  • Managing and negotiating tenders with Local Authority
  • Continuous operational and financial improvement
  • Managing the Finance Assistant at both sites
  • Manage operational teams - including IT, facilities, catering, and infrastructure

Requirements

  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA - fully qualified
  • Educational sector knowledge is a bonus but NOT a must
  • Excellent team management and development experience
  • Highly IT literate
  • Demonstrable experience of financial management

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary to £90,000, possibly a tad more for the right person
  • Small discretionary Bonus
  • Possibility of flex-fund offer on pension if required, or used for private healthcare

arrangements.
