A leading FTSE 250 Financial Services organisation, is seeking a talented qualified accountant, with experience of managing a small team, to join their business as the Head of Group FP&A.

Reporting in to the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for a small team and act as the lead for the Budgeting and Forecasting across the Group, providing information, analytical support and reporting for the relevant stakeholders. More succinctly your responsibilities within the role will be:

  • Co-ordinate the Budget and Forecast processes, consolidation of submissions from various businesses for reporting to Executive Management and the Board
  • Analyse current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, expenses and capital expenditures
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
  • Oversee and manage the continued development of Budgeting, Forecasting, and modelling tools
  • Improve performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
  • Analyse complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
  • Work closely with the Head of Group Statutory and Management Reporting and Group Cost Manager
  • Supporting Senior Management Team and Department heads with in-depth analysis
  • Prepare presentations to Board of Directors and Senior Executive Team

Skills and Competencies:

  • Skilled in Microsoft applications software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships across functional areas
  • Ability to analyse problems, propose remedies and implement a solution
  • Ability to react to changing requirements and adjust processes and approach
  • Ability to recognise what needs to be done and do it with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Hands on approach, working and supporting members of the team as appropriate

Knowledge:

  • Experience of Hyperion Essbase and HFM a plus
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret and summarise / present varied data
  • Financial Services Industry a plus
  • Knowledge about the financial services industry and desire to expand operational knowledge

Qualification:

  • Qualified accountant with at least 4-5 years relevant post qualification experience
