Indirect Tax Accountant / Manchester - Hybrid / £45,000 DOE with Benefits

Marks Sattin are delighted to be collaborating with a global marketing agency who are looking on expanding their Tax team in the North West. This is an exciting opportunity within a fast paced and constantly changing environment to join a fantastic business.

The Role:

They are looking for an individual with strong knowledge of UK VAT who they can support and develop. But also, someone who is team orientated and able to maintain positive & supportive relationships with colleagues. As an Indirect Tax Accountant you will be responsible for the accounting and reporting of financial information relating to Indirect Tax. You will also have the opportunity to get involved with the tax team advisory projects.


Day to Day

  • Responsibility for preparation and submission of VAT returns across the European entities.
  • Assist with VAT registrations and de-registrations across various jurisdictions.
  • Responsible for monitoring VAT payments and refunds.
  • Ensuring that the import VAT is reviewed and recovered correctly in multiple jurisdictions in a timely manner.
  • Month-end close and co-ordination of VAT related system tasks and processes.
  • Forecasting of VAT return cash inflows & outflows.
  • Support the Indirect tax manager in providing day to day assistance to internal and external stakeholders on any VAT queries as and when they arise.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding & experience working with VAT
  • Ideally studying towards or possessing a relevant finance qualification
  • 2 years' experience in a relevant role
  • Experience liaising with different level stakeholders by articulating finance concepts to non-finance colleagues

Desired skills (But not required):

  • Experience working with European VAT
  • Experience working with financial reconciliations & balance sheet reconciliations
  • Experience from an In-house role
