A remote working opportunity for an Indirect Tax Manager to join a UK independent broking and underwriting group.

Perfect for someone who is looking to work from home full time, and could even suit someone living outside of London in the regions, as long as you can travel to London once or twice a quarter for a team meeting.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career and gain some great commercial experience. You will be reporting into the senior manager who is a great mentor and the team culture is non-hierarchical.

Responsibilities of Indirect Tax Manager:

  • Compiling and reviewing the Group VAT return from reports produced by segment finance teams
  • Supporting various technology transformation / optimisation projects in VAT reporting and ensuring compliance with Making Tax Digital requirements - including working with finance teams to redesign reports as needed
  • Assisting the Head of Indirect Tax in identifying and implementing indirect tax planning opportunities and risk mitigation strategies
  • Supporting projects undertaken by Head of Indirect Tax and third party advisors by modelling input tax recovery methodologies and VAT savings opportunities
  • Supporting the Head of Indirect Tax in renegotiating the PESM to take account of business changes and maximise VAT recoveries
  • Ownership of indirect tax process documentation across the Group and of the SAO workstream related to indirect tax

Requirements of Tax Manager:

  • Have a UK Tax and / or Accountancy qualifications (CIOT, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Minimum of three years' VAT experience, ideally some industry experience
  • Some experience in working with partial exemption methods is preferred
